Brand Story

At Legado, we believe that handmade pieces are truly special, they tell a story. For the indigenous communities in Mexico, their craft is much more than a source of income, it's really part of their identity. Legado means legacy in Spanish. We think it is very important to preserve this legacy. Legado wants to celebrate this know-how and help preserve what has been passed down from generation to generation. We offer fashion accessories and home goods made from Mexican ancestral textiles collaborating directly with the local artisans.

Fair Trade

FairtradeNeuMärz

How do you ensure "Fair Trade" manufacturing?

Our objective is to promote Mexican ancestral craftsmanship and make our business profitable in the long term so we can keep giving work to the local artisans and really help them preserve their crafts. We are committed to following fair trade practices in all aspects of our business. We work directly with the artisans and they fix the costs. They are mainly female artisans and besides their craft activity they are also mums, farmers, cooks, or have any other activities so they all work from home at their own pace.

Social Justice
