Brand Story

At L’Envers our mission is to design fewer pieces made in a better way. We believe quality is an investment in the future that clothing ought to be made in mindful, careful and slow consumption. We believe our planet deserves better. Less waste and less pollution. That’s why we create season-less pieces. Away from the tyranny of seasons, we offer timeless editions which are meant to stand the test of time and outlive fast fads and seasonal trends. Since 2015 all of our pieces have been knitted in local, small family workshops in Spain, home of founder, Julie and her

Brand Transparency

Who answered our brand transparency questions?

Julie Charvet – CEO at L’Envers.

Fair Trade

FairtradeNeuMärz

How do you ensure "Fair Trade" manufacturing? If your manufacturing or the manufacturing company you work with is certified, please list these certifications.

We are an independent French brand based in Spain, unattached to a major group or financial funding and the only interests we defend are those of the planet and our artisans. It is not a lack of ambition, but the desire to preserve our freedom, to remain true to our founding values, to maintain our authenticity and to develop at our own pace without any financial pressure. Our motto: " we make it slow to make it last", is an equivalent of going slowly but surely, and sustainably!

Social Justice

DEZEquality21

How do you ensure "Social Justice" with your internal and external corporate environment?

Our creations are intended for all types of women all over the globe to be inspired by local artisanal production, by slow and respectful fashion, and the stories of the hidden hands behind the confection of their clothes. We also support social justice by donating to relevant NGOs.

Organic Material

DezOrganic21_2

Which "Organic Material" do you work with? What makes this material sustainable? And what makes it better compared to conventional material?

In light of our ethics and the values we believe in, the choice for our raw materials focuses on environmental fibers: organic cotton and natural wool. Privileging natural and non-synthetic materials allows our clothes to have a lower environmental impact. All our materials are carefully selected from our mills in France and Spain, which allows us to control the manufacturing conditions of our yarns, to guarantee the quality of non toxic-materials dangerous to your health and the environment. Certified GOTS and OCCGuarantee.

Local Production

LocalNeuMärz10_7

Where and why are your products manufactured "locally"?

Since 2015 all of our pieces have been knitted in local, small family workshops in Spain, home of founder, Julie and her family. We wanted to give a voice to the local artisans specialised in knitwear who have suffered from the relocation of the textile industry to Asia.

Handcrafted

HandmadeNeuMärz

You stated that at least 50% of your total product range is"Handcrafted". Please briefly explain how your handcrafted manufacturing process works.

At L'Envers we offer hand assembled pieces by Miguel and his Mother, our family owned workshop in Spain, and we also offer 100% hand knitted pieces from Liliana, our artisan from France, who even raises the goats herself!

Zero Waste

Zerowasteneumärz09

Which processes in your supply chain are "Zero "Waste"?

Zero waste production! We produce made to order to limit our impact. We believe in only making, using and buying what we need! Create less waste and contribute less waste!

Vegan

VeganNeuMärz

How can you ensure that at least 50% of your total product range is "Vegan"?

Our entire collection is not vegan. We have two collections, a fall/winter collection which is made with wool; and a spring/summer collection that is made without the use of any animals! As we are a small start-up, we work to be more and more sustainable every day.

Give Back

Charity Social Integration

What organization do you donate to? Why is it important for your brand to "Give Back"?

We are giving 1% of our benefits to the Clean Clothes Campaign. Because making a slower and more ethical fashion is not enough, L’Envers wants to make sure those directly suffering the disastrous consequences of fast fashion are not forgotten.

Cultural Support

How do you "culturally support" local traditions and communities, democratic politics and education, especially in the countries where your brand operates?

Our creations are intended for women all over the globe to be inspired by local artisanal production, by slow and respectful fashion, and the stories of the hidden hands behind the confection of their clothes. We work to protect heritage trade conservations.

Eco Packaging

You have indicated to use "Eco Packaging". What makes your packaging more sustainable than conventional packaging.
