Brand Story

At The Slow Label, we are guided by our values in every decision we make. We source sustainable materials, work with ethical suppliers and advocate for a more conscious consumerism. Our aim is to slow down the fast-paced fashion industry by approaching things with an honest and improvement-oriented mindset. Our capsule collections consist of garments that are timeless and versatile — two key factors in making clothing more sustainable and creating long-lasting positive change. Getting dressed is a daily ritual — buying clothes shouldn’t be. We encourage you to continuously make conscious choices and cherish what you already have.

Your Conscious Choice.

When you choose our eco brand partner, you help make the world more sustainable.

Brand Transparency

Who answered our brand transparency questions?

Anna-Lena Krummer – CEO at The Slow Label.

Fair Trade

FairtradeNeuMärz

How do you ensure "Fair Trade" manufacturing? If your manufacturing or the manufacturing company you work with is certified, please list these certifications.

The artisans and manufacturers we work with are the foundation of our business. We value the close relationship we have with our suppliers and manufacturers around Europe and Morocco and currently have a carefully selected network in Germany, Austria, Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia. Our supply chains are disclosed on our product pages and we seek to visit each manufacturer we work with at least once a year (due to covid, some planned visits were not possible in 2020). Our production teams in Germany, Austria and Morocco have visited and approved all manufacturers and have been working with them for years.

Social Justice

DEZEquality21

How do you ensure "Social Justice" with your internal and external corporate environment?

At this moment, we are only a very small all-female and female-led team of three people. We have a close relationship internally, giving everybody an equal voice, treating each other respectfully and never discriminate. We approach external relationships with business partners with the same positive mindset.

Organic Material

DezOrganic21_2

Which "Organic Material" do you work with? What makes this material sustainable? And what makes it better compared to conventional material?

Each of our product pages shows a detailed description of the textiles and trims used to make our garments. We currently work with textiles made of TENCEL™ lyocell, certified organic wool and certified organic cotton. For stretchy items (coming soon), we have managed to create our own fabrics using a blend of (>95%) organic cotton and biodegradable elastane (ROICA V550). We go the extra mile to make this possible. Both the fabrics as well as trims like buttons (corozo), threads (cotton or TENCEL™), rubber bands (natural rubber and organic cotton) and labels (organic cotton) are sourced consciously.

Eco/Tech Material

Zero Waste

Zerowasteneumärz09

Which processes in your supply chain are "Zero "Waste"?

Although we would not identify as a fully zero waste company, we do pay a lot of attention to the waste that is created during a product's life cycle. We only work with plastic-free fabrics, source natural trims, work with a computer software to determine the best and most waste-free pattern design and do not ship in polybags. Almost all paper goods we use within our company (hangtags, flyers, etc.) are made of certified recycled materials. We also offer a repair service for our Raffia Bags, partnering with a local "Korbflechterin" (basket maker) in Austria.

Give Back

Charity Social Integration

What organization do you donate to? Why is it important for your brand to "Give Back"?

We are committed to donating 1% of our gross sales to non-profit organizations. Among them are various environmental and social organizations, such as Sea-Watch e.V. and The Bail Project.

Cultural Support

How do you "culturally support" local traditions and communities, democratic politics and education, especially in the countries where your brand operates?

We have recently started working with female artisans in Morocco to produce raffia bags. This trade is a symbol of their heritage. It is crucial now, during times where tourism all over the world is suffering, to support those who are in need of job opportunities.

Eco Packaging

You have indicated to use "Eco Packaging". What makes your packaging more sustainable than conventional packaging.
