We adore prints. Prints inspire us and we love the artwork and story behind the different patterns and colors. Whether it be a uniquely designed kimono, a sweet vintage print blouse or a dress that rather looks like an art piece: We found these wonderful and eco-friendly print collections by these fashion labels.

Faithfull The Brand

Faithfull designs are hand-dyed and hand-printed in Bali, Indonesia. Believing in giving back to local communities, the brand maintains close and fair relationships with all people involved in the making. Their trendy prints are inspired by rare vintage finds the two founders discovered during their travels. Hot jumpsuits, cute dresses, cool swimwear…we truly want them all. Help us decide here.

KOMANA

Inspired by tribal art, the wonders of nature and music, Livia and Nina design original and quirky prints that tell a story. They work with freehand drawing, paint brushing and use silkscreens and woodblock to print their clothes. The design duo uses non-hazardous dyes on local, fair and preferably organic fabrics. They also upcycle scraps that would normally go to waste into their collections. Fair relationships with local artisans and field workers in India are a matter close to their heart. Have a look at their super cool and modern pieces here.

RŪPAHAUS

RŪPAHAUS’ patterns are a mix of Indonesian heritage and contemporary design. We think their coolest wearable art piece is the Gala Kimono Kurata. It is made by batik artisans using a traditional Javanese batik technique with the combination of paintbrush-like strokes. RŪPAHAUS experiments with different natural dyes sourced from plants and raw materials like mud, seashells and morinda fruits. They only use natural materials found in the artisans surrounding which are naturally processed through traditional techniques.

The Rushing Hour

Besides creating instagrammable designs, recycling is the main aim of the girl’s squad behind the Australian brand. Founder Jac already upcycled her old clothes when she was a little girl. And she still doesn’t believe in disposable fashion. That’s why she uses sustainable fabrics and leftover materials for her collections that last for season after season. To save water and energy, they use digital printing and eco-friendly dyes. Big win: with every item sold, Rushing Hour provides one month of education to a girl in need. Super cool detail: every piece features an inspirational quote from female game changers across history. We want: the Afterglow Reversible Bomber Jacket.

The Ziran

The flowery patterns make us think of beautiful hidden gardens in China. The Ziran is the first and only company in the US working with the unique xiang yun sha silk which has been made in a small Chinese town for the past 500 years. The silk is all natural, wrinkle-resistant, skin-nourishing, anti-microbial and durable enough for everyday wear. All pieces are hand-sewn and cut in downtown Los Angeles. Have a look at their eye-catching robes, blazers, pants, dresses and more here.

Recreation

Californian local, Andrea, discovered her love of screen printing while studying Fashion and Textile design. This kicked off a beautiful symbiosis of bold prints and contemporary silhouettes. All Recreation pieces are made from organic cotton and hemp. Andrea’s hand screen prints turn each garment into a work of art. We absolutely love the Aloha dress.
