Why we love this place
LA FROMAGERIE is a cheese shop founded by Patricia Michelson, who discovered her passion for cheese while skiing in Meribel. What began with ‘Beaufort Chalet d’Alpage’ (a cheese) sold from her garden shed has grown into a celebrated destination for cheese enthusiasts in London. The Marylebone location, established in 2002, offers an inviting and welcoming atmosphere with a charming café known as No 6 Cheese & Wine Bar. The standout feature of this location is the walk-in cheese room. Here, you’ll find over 200 artisan and farmhouse cheeses sourced from the UK, Southern Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, and the US. The shop is expertly overseen by cheesemongers Stephen, Max, and Josh, who are always eager to share their knowledge. Enjoy essentials like olive oils and fresh breads, alongside salads and homemade cakes. LA FROMAGERIE hosts regular events like cheese tastings and “meet the maker” sessions, offering a unique dive into artisanal cheeses.
