When Elisa Marshall and Benjamin Sormonte opened Maman in 2014 in SoHo, New York City, their goal was simple: to create a warm neighborhood café that felt inviting rather than trendy. The name Maman is French for “mother” and reflects a melding of their earliest childhood experiences in the kitchen and a nod to their mothers from the south of France and North America. The SoHo location is their flagship—a charming spot ideal for coffee-to-go or a coffee date, adorned with unique decorations found in design magazines. We love the packaging with blue flowers.
