Why we love this place
In 2018, MIZNON brought its renowned Mediterranean street food to the U.S., opening its first location in the iconic Chelsea Market. Our editor-in-chief, Antonia, stumbled upon the Chelsea Market branch during a weekend visit to the Chelsea Flea and couldn’t resist trying their famous pita which she knows from MIZNON Paris. MIZNON’s concept revolves around using fresh, seasonal ingredients to create a unique culinary experience, with a vision to capture the flavor of each city and translate it into a pita. Founded in Tel Aviv in 2011 by acclaimed chef Eyal Shani, MIZNON has since expanded to 40 locations worldwide, including Paris, Vienna, and Melbourne. Shani’s passion for regional Mediterranean ingredients—like olive oil, tahini, and fresh vegetables—radiates in every dish. The NYC location embodies the same philosophy: blending the energy and essence of the city into its vibrant, flavor-packed pitas.
